Our Five Commitments

Blooming Flopside is built for focused making and generous community. These five commitments shape how we host, how we share space, and what you can expect—from workshops and open studios to late-night conversations.

01

Show up curious, not finished

Bring what you’re working on, what you’re stuck on, and what you’re excited about. This is a place to experiment, ask better questions, and try something new—without performing or pitching.

02

Respect people, time, and tools

We keep sessions on schedule, clean up after ourselves, and treat shared materials with care. Listen actively, make introductions, and help the room feel welcoming—especially for first-timers.

03

Consent-first conversation & critique

Feedback is opt-in: ask before offering critique, and receive it with generosity. No assumptions, no edge for sport—just clear, supportive communication that keeps everyone safe to create.

04

Come prepared for the week

Check the schedule, pack what you need, and arrive with a plan for your energy. If you have access needs or questions, reach out early—so we can set you up for a good experience.

05

Care for the venue and the community

Take responsibility for your impact—on the space, the staff, and each other. Clean up, keep pathways clear, and look out for your neighbors so the gathering stays sustainable year after year.
